Ivy Magazine Edition.3 Cover

“Past, Present, Future”

Collaborating with Ivy Magazine with the request of the cover dress design including elements of hanbok, vivid color, and flowy movement, I tried to create a dress with those elements and my appreciation of Korean culture to reflect the theme of the Ivy magazine 2020's issue, “past present future”.
In the process of designing the dress, I discovered rich and beautiful Korean culture: the colorful artwork on the Korean palace where I got the color for the dress; some gorgeous hanboks wore by women in the old photos which I inspired from; the Korean jacquard fabric which I used to make the dress; and so on. The journey of making the dress was wonderful and made me more appreciate the opportunity to stay in and learn about Korea.
